M.A. Degree Opportunity in Industrial & Organizational Psychology

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., March 6, 2012 - Dr. Bernard Luskin, CEO and Senior Provost of Touro University Worldwide and Dr. Arnie Dahlke, Chair and Director of the Master's degree program in Industrial & Organizational Psychology (I/O Psychology) have underlined the importance of Industrial and Organizational Psychology as a growing specialty in professional psychology.

Many I/O psychologists work with organizations to help improve teamwork, increase productivity, provide training and assessment, build more effective customer relations and deal with human resource problems. "According to 2010 statistics presented by the US Department of Labor, the average salaries of I/O

psychologists is $114,040 and the top 5% of I/O Psychologists earn $250,000 or higher per year. Given the rapid changes taking place in the 21st-century work environment, I/O Psychologists are increasingly in great demand. According to government economists, the job growth for industrial and organizational psychologists is expected to be faster than the average for all careers through 2018.

According to the College Board, a not-for-profit membership organization committed to excellence and equity in education, this is a career specialty in which employees with a master's degree are highly desirable when it comes time to finding work," Dahlke elaborated.

I/O Psychology is a sub-specialty in psychology and is Division 14 of the American Psychological Association.
